Dear Ingraham community,
Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! We are so happy to be back in Ingraham’s halls, catching up with friends and meeting all our new families!
By now, we are all settling in to our school year routine; fresh books cracked, papers written, tongues stumbling over new languages, instruments dusted off, and fall sports in full swing. A walk down the halls at Ingraham is all we need to notice and appreciate what a compassionate and supportive community looks like; colorful posters inviting students to join myriad clubs, an excellent Student Success Center, and art projects on display are all part of the cheerful, welcoming backdrop to our children’s days. What we may not see is that there is an organization, Friends of Ingraham (FOI), that unites us all - families, faculty, and administrators - to support our students and give them the best high school experience possible.
With your support, FOI bridges the gap between fundamental needs and an exceptional learning environment, providing the tools and opportunities that enrich our students’ learning experiences. From whiteboards and computers to athletic gear and instruments to school supplies and field trip scholarships; you name it, and FOI ensures that Principal Floe and the caring adults behind the scenes have what they need to do their best work for our students.
In an effort to more closely align with our values as an organization, we’re switching it up a little this year. In the past, we have asked all families for a membership fee to join FOI; however, we truly consider all Ingraham families to be FOI members, regardless of financial circumstances. Therefore, this year we are forgoing the traditional membership fee and asking instead that all community members contribute in a personally meaningful way, either financially or through gifts of time, service, and attendance.
This decision to increase accessibility does place added importance on fundraising this year. With that in mind, please consider joining me in making a financial contribution to Friends of Ingraham this year. Thanks to your generosity, FOI distributed nearly $50,000 in grants throughout the school last year. Your gift will make a direct impact this academic year and will allow FOI to continue to fulfill the needs of our wonderful Ingraham community.
On behalf of hundreds of families and staff members, thank you! Go Rams!
